10 TV Shows To Watch If You Love Buffy The Vampire Slayer
4. IZombie
One of the more original takes on zombie fiction in recent years, iZombie follows Liv Moore (oh the irony), a zombie who can maintain her humanity provided she's got enough human brains in her diet plan. We discover that every time Liv gets her munchies on, she picks up some of the characteristics and memories of the person the brain belonged to. This attribute frequently makes her a grossly handy ally for the police.
To keep an almost fresh supply of the good stuff coming in, she takes up a job at the nearest morgue. The Liv character's plight is a sympathetic, often sad one. Once a doctor, her life is ended and re-animated and while it's all very entertaining, it's understandable that she's less than thrilled by her predicament. The longing to have a normal life again is reminiscent of Buffy's own misery at having being chosen against her will to be the slayer. Also like Buffy though is the drive to fight the good fight until that day.
Quick-witted, grisly and fronted with a winning performance by Rose McIver, iZombie is among the CW's grandest contributions to the small screen.
