10 TV Shows Totally In Denial About Being Over

Could it have been anything else? It's no secret that The Simpsons is far past its prime, having been on-air for thirty-three seasons and over 700 episodes at this point, and the worrying thing is that it still seems to have no end in sight.

Of course, The Simpsons' golden age (seasons three through thirteen, if you ask me) offers some of the best TV ever made, an inventive and exciting series made up of social satire, family drama, and pop culture spoofs that still hold up today.

But as the years have gone on and the show has pushed itself into its third decade, The Simpsons has lost much of its shock value and originality, and these days heavily relies on celebrity cameos and retelling the same half-dozen stories to keep itself moving.

It's not unforgivably bad by any stretch, but after thirty years as a TV staple, there's no denying The Simpsons has been on a downward slump for a while now, and shows no signs of improving anytime soon. It's probably best to end it before it slips any further into mediocrity.
