10 TV Shows Totally In Denial About Being Over
2. American Horror Story
These days, it seems like Ryan Murphy is everywhere, and whilst Glee was incredibly popular during its run, it was American Horror Story that really turned him into a TV powerhouse.
American Horror Story is an anthology series wherein each new season tells a fresh story, usually bringing in the same actors to play different characters. Part horror, fantasy, drama, murder mystery and ghost story, the series has enjoyed a ten-season run as of this writing.
But whilst the first three seasons were absolutely inspired, and the seventh season Cult proved to be a welcome return to form, the series has spent its last few seasons really pushing itself into a corner, with painfully dull fan service, time travel-related plot twists and an increased reliance on shock-over-story.
Many of its later-season developments - typically those involving serial killers and haunted houses - have sorely lacked the originality of their predecessors, and with its renewal through to season thirteen and the recent debut of its spin-off American Horror Stories, it seems the franchise is destined to only get more played-out.
