10 TV Shows Totally In Denial About Being Over

9. Family Guy

Billions Paul Giamatti Damien Lewis

Currently airing its twentieth season and already greenlit for a twenty-first, Family Guy is an animated family sitcom that's been on-air for far too long, and serves as a perfect example of how no show can possibly air nearly 400 episodes with the same level of originality and humour.

Though its early run was rife with ingenious moments of comedy gold, as the years have gone on the creative juices have stopped flowing and the show has become a repetitive, unsurprising shell of its former self.

The moment Family Guy really lost its way can of course be traced back to creator Seth McFarlane's decision to kill-off fan favourite Brian, only to bring him back via time travel two episodes later. Since then, the jokes have become stale, the plotlines repetitive, and the audience numbers have dwindled.

Also, once you remember McFarlance himself expressed a desire to see the show cancelled back in 2011 (!), it only makes its continued existence that little bit more perplexing.
