10 TV Shows Utterly Ruined By Their Final Revelations
4. Sons Of Anarchy - Jax Kills Himself
Kurt Sutter's riveting crime drama series clambered to an overdue and highly underwhelming conclusion with its botched series finale, in which protagonist Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) hurriedly gets his affairs in order and kills himself by driving headlong into a truck.
The intent was clearly to poignantly reflect the death of Jax's father on the same bike and the same road years prior, but given the dubious motivation and how thrown-together it felt in the quest for an emotional ending, it left many fans woefully unsatisfied.
It sure didn't help that the crash itself boasted bargain basement visual effects, including some hilariously cheap-looking digital crows and a CGI pool of blood the Sharknado movies would be embarrassed to make use of.
Granted, Sons of Anarchy really struggled a lot in its later seasons, but fans nevertheless expected Sutter to pull out all the stops for a thrilling send-off. Instead it was messy, forced and underwhelming.
