10 TV Shows Which Refused To Give Fans What They Wanted

At the end of all-consuming sitcom Friends, four of the main six characters are in relationships with each other. Monica and Chandler celebrate the arrival of their twins in the finale, whilst Rachel famously "got off the plane" to be with Ross.

We're not sure why - Ross is the worst.

That leaves two Friends not dating each other - Joey and Phoebe. Whilst the Smelly Cat singer ended with Paul Rudd, Joey was left all on his own come the last episode of the show and there were plenty of fans who weren't happy to see this.

The writers peppered in teases that Joey and Phoebe were going to end up together across the series. They lock lips on a number of occasions and Joey even proposes to Ms. Buffay when he thinks she is pregnant.

The fact that the two didn't complete the set and become an item left many Friends fans feeling dissatisfied, even if that would have been total and utter overkill on the part of the writers.

There was very little chance that the show was going to end with all of the main characters partnered up, but that didn't stop plenty of people from dreaming.
