5. Don And Sally's Reconciliation - Mad Men
The first child of Don and Betty, Sally Draper had a real rough go of it in Mad Men.
She was carted off to boarding school, her parents went through a messy divorce, and her mother was extremely abusive towards her to then go and get lung cancer. Poor girl couldn't catch a break!
One of the most upsetting relationships in Sally's life was with her father, Don. Desperate for his affection but never receiving it, Sally never connected with her dad in the way she wanted to and audiences connected with her through her pain.
Fans of the show were desperate for Don to make good with his daughter before the series ended, but this never happened. The pair were kept quite separate from each other after the divorce and a lot of Sally's storylines revolved around her relationship with Betty rather than Don.
Although her mother was her main antagonist throughout the show, Sally's dad had a lot of making up to do as well. He enabled a lot of Betty's abuse and was never there when his daughter needed him most.
He should have been given a chance to make things right, but this just wasn't in the script for ol' Donny boy.
