10 TV Shows Whose Cancellation Was Way Overdue

6. Family Matters

family-matters It's interesting to watch the evolution of Family Matters over its nine year run. What starts off as mainly an ensemble piece quickly becomes The Urkel Show. And while Urkel's fine and dandy in small doses, the show takes a turn for the strange and irritating whenever he's around for too long. Despite the best efforts of the rest of the cast, Family Matters takes a serious nosedive in quality as soon as we see a clear transition towards Urkel. And what's worse, when the show really should have ended, they tried to milk a few more seasons out of it with Stefon, Urkel's suave alter ego. Nothing smacks of rank desperation like the introduction of a doppelganger. Especially one played by Jaleel White.
