10 TV Universes That Make No Sense
8. The Umbrella Academy
If you're going to use time travel as one of your main plot devices, you really need to pay attention, especially if you're going to be using real-life events as crucial storylines.
The Umbrella Academy may be one of the best shows to come out of Netflix in a long time, but it still falls victim to the minefield that is time travel.
Season one, while featuring quite a bit of mind-melting, timeline debauchery, managed to keep a hold of the reins extremely well. But when the show began season 2 with a ripple through time that sent all the main characters back to the 60s, things started to get a lot more complex.
With a frozen-in-time assassination commission and a space-time-continuum-jumping tweenager, it's hard to keep track of everything going on on the show. But the real headache starts when you try and think about the timeline tampering from the Hargreeves siblings that end up completely rewriting the events of the first season.
Surely it would have reversed the season 2 storyline altogether, meaning that they never went back in time in the first place! Do you get it yet? Didn't think so. Clearly the showrunners didn't either.
