10 Underhyped TV Shows That Blew Everyone Away

4. Pushing Daisies

Pushing Daisies is yet another Bryan Fuller television show that went by unappreciated in its time, only to wow audiences who discovered it later. The series was touted as a "forensic fairy tale," and it was whimsical and dark at the same time.

The show revolved around Ned, "The Piemaker," who had a special gift (or curse, depending on how you looked at it). He could revive a dead animal or person simply by touching them. If he didn't touch them again for 60 seconds, they remained alive. Wait 61 seconds, and another person would die in their place.

He learned this the hard way when he brought his mother back to life, but in the process, he ended up killing his neighbor Chuck's father. The relationship between Chuck and Ned is the main focus of the series because when they reconnected as adults, Ned brought her back from death, and they fell in love — but one more touch, and she's dead, which is the curse part of his gift.

The episodes were narrated by Jim Dale, and it was truly a wonderful series, which was recognized with 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, and seven wins. While the show is often noted for being canceled too soon, it was definitely underhyped at the beginning, which likely hurt it in terms of gaining a larger audience.
