10 Underhyped TV Shows That Blew Everyone Away
2. Schitt's Creek
Schitt's Creek is one of those shows a select few people watched when it first premiered in 2015, but soon after, just about everyone had heard of it or seen it. The show aired on CBC Television between January 2015 and April 2020 for a total of six seasons consisting of 80 episodes.
The series is all about the trials and tribulations of the once-disgustingly wealthy Rose family, who lost all of their money and possessions. The one thing that remains in their name is the small town of Schitt's Creek, which was originally purchased as a joke.
They soon find themselves living in a motel with their adult children, where they attempt to adjust to normal life in small-town America. Since premiering, the show has received widespread acclaim, and it's been singled out for its writing, humor, and acting, thanks to veteran players Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy.
Despite being a massive success now, it took a good few years and strong word of mouth for Schitt's Creek to get there. By the end of its sixth season, it pulled in 19 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, SAG Awards, a Critics' Choice Television Award, and two ACTRA Awards.
