Arya’s exploits in Braavos were not the highlight of her storyline. In contrast to her time spent with the Hound, her experience with the Faceless Men was relatively mundane for the most part. Yet there was one unexpected highlight of her time in Braavos.
A key aspect of Arya’s training was being able to take on different personas, and whilst masquerading as a salesman named Lanna, she shouted the phrase, ‘Oysters, clams, and cockles!’ numerous times as she trundled her goods around this city of traders and seafarers.
As fans of the books will know, said dialogue was taken directly from A Feast for Crows, and whilst not particularly amusing to read, something about Maisie Williams’ delivery in the show made this line irresistibly funny.
