5. Hercules: The Thracian Wars

This one, like Pompeii, is basically tailor made for a TV treatment, though with the presence of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Brett Ratner's movie version, that just might be enough to make the film work. Still, for a TV show, there's so much plot to draw from that it could easily be dragged out for a few seasons, as we learn Hercules' upbringing, the loss of his family, his bond with his fellow warriors, and his eventually being hired by the King of Thrace to train his army. Though it would have to shift out from under the shadow of the now-laughable Kevin Sorbo version, with a bankable enough star in the lead role (who looks the part), I'm sure plenty of networks would be interested in a well-produced take on this legend.
