10 Upcoming Movies That Would Work Way Better As TV Shows
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Michael Bay-produced take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (for a time renamed to just "Ninja Turtles" before fans complained en masse) has gone wrong pretty much every step of the way so far, from awful early scripts that leaked online, to the casting of Megan Fox as April O'Neil, to the fact that the Turtles are going to be CGI (not that the live-action versions have been superb to date). I can't help but think the Turtles name should have returned to the form that made it popular for millions of kids worldwide in the first place, as an animated TV series. Whether traditionally animated or utilising the CGI approach from the 2007 TMNT movie, these characters just suit an animated world far more than they do a real one. Though the old guys-in-suits movies have a certain charm, even they wore viewers down by the end of the series, and while CGI Turtles in the real world, as in the new film, is not much better of an idea, to place them in an entirely CGI world just might work. That or just make it a traditionally animated throwback to the classic show. Either way, it surely won't be worse than the monstrosity headed our way this August.
