10 Upcoming Movies That Would Work Way Better As TV Shows
3. 300: Rise Of An Empire
I don't think there are many people out there dying to see more of what came before 300, but they've gone ahead and made a movie about it anyway. While for that reason some might argue that a 2-hour film is enough, a glossy TV-series set in this world could work, especially if it focused on the building up of Xerxes as the leader of the Persian empire, as well as the various battles that took place during that time. The other possibility would be to scrap this movie's concept and make a show set after the Battle of Thermopylae, showing the battle that was teased at the end of 300, and depicting the fallout of the demise of Leonidas and the might 300. Due to the graphic violence, it'd need to be on a network able to tolerate this level of gore, though due to its glossy nature, I expect a high-brow network like HBO would probably pass on it. Starz, who developed the Spartacus TV series, might be game, though I'm not convinced from that show's results that they'd be able to stump up the budget required to make a 300 TV show work.
