10 Upcoming New Sci-Fi TV Shows To Be Excited About
7. Upload
In a landscape becoming increasingly saturated with films and shows of this genre - one that is built on revolutionary phenomenons that have basically done it all before - it's hard to produce something that doesn't seem even a little bit derivative. It's nobody's fault per se, but the ideas are becoming less and less original. And yet Upload stands out for its originality.
A series in which humans are basically able to upload themselves into an afterlife of their choosing, this satirical Amazon comedy is unorthodox to say the least, and in spite of the fact that it looks like it takes its cues from The Good Place, it's a refreshingly new concept that promises to offer viewers something a little bit different from what that they've seen before.
With the creative team behind sitcom sensations The Office and Parks and Recreation, and starring Robbie Amell in the lead role of Nathan - the guy who forgoes a life-threatening operation so that he can jump straight into his technologically-advanced afterlife - Upload is the most ambitious comedy in some time, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it could be one of the best new shows of the year.
