3. Resident Alien

With so many larger-than-life concepts and superhero-related properties in the science fiction marketplace, it's often easy to overlook some of the smaller-scale productions within the genre. But one that could very well end up proving why size doesn't matter is Syfy's quirky comedy Resident Alien.

Based on the well-received comic series of the same name and starring Alan Tudyk in the leading role, this one follows an alien that crash-lands on earth and is forced to pose as a doctor while waiting for his fellow aliens to come and rescue him, all while avoiding the government agency out to hunt him down.

If it gets the mix of comedy and drama just right, Resident Alien has the potential to be bloody brilliant. It's biggest asset, however, might just be the man behind the little green man.

Tudyk is a rare kind of actor that somehow manages to seem like a revelation in every role that he plays so, fresh off his deliciously villainous performance in Doom Patrol last year (which could very well be a career-best), it's safe to say that he'll have no problem pulling off yet another ambitious role with relative ease.
