10 Upcoming TV Shows NOBODY Asked For

6. Bel-Air

Bel-Air 2022
Peacock

Originally developed as a dramatic fan trailer that aired on YouTube in 2019, Bel-Air is set to be a more mature reboot of the beloved 90s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, with original star Will Smith developing the idea for Peacock.

Smith's involvement might get audiences interested, and the recent trailer looks promising, but Bel-Air still feels a painfully redundant reboot. Not only is The Fresh Prince such a classic treasure of the small screen, its dramatic edge and touching character development already made it a very mature show underneath the jokes.

There's sure to be some timely themes thrown into Bel-Air to make it soar with its young and mostly unknown cast, but much of what was said and done in the original series still packs a punch to this day - whether it's a classic slapstick outburst from Smith, or a timely life lesson from Uncle Phil.

Ultimately, Bel-Air doesn't feel like it's going to do much new with its story or characters, which is why fans have never asked for it to happen; the original nailed it.
