10 Upcoming TV Shows NOBODY Asked For

4. True Blood

Bel-Air 2022
HBO

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you didn't already know about this one, but it was recently revealed that a True Blood reboot is in the early stages of development, despite the original show only coming to an end in 2014 as a popular cult favourite.

One of many reboots to make this list, True Blood is easily the most egregious and unnecessary, what with the original series being as young as it is and the overdone vampire trend being way passed its peak.

Though there's little news on what the show will be about - whether it'll tell the same story or feature the same cast or characters - but HBO have confirmed it'll be "a story worth telling," and one that's in-keeping with the tone and drama of its madly popular predecessor.

Feeling like little more than a cheap stab at cashing in on people's nostalgia, the True Blood reboot is a depressing project to consider, perfectly summarising all that's wrong with producers' insistence on increasingly scrapping new ideas in favour of tapping into tired remakes and unwanted sequels.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
