4. The Injury (Season 2, Episode 12)
When Michael burns his foot in a George-Forman grill, Dwight rushes to his aid. His motives to be the hero aren’t quite in sync with his driving ability, and the office watch helplessly as Dwight rams his car into a streetlamp outside. He then throws up on his bonnet and it’s later revealed he has a concussion. Concussed Dwight is a very different character to the intense worker fans have grown to love, but he is every bit as brilliant.
Although at times the concussion makes for some very odd interactions, such as his awful flirting with Angela in the break room, or his inexplicably raised hand in the conference room, we also see a cheerful and caring side to Dwight. The episode’s greatest development is Dwight’s friendship with Pam, who he would later label in the finale as his ‘best friend’ (awww).
