10 Walking Dead Character Deaths That Made Us Secretly Happy
3. The Governor
Every great television show needs an even greater villain, something which the Walking Dead has been pretty consistent with throughout its multiple season run.
In the beginning, the Governor was everything you would want from a resident bad guy. He was brutal, charming, had a catchy name, and at one point even sported a stereotypical villainous eye patch.
Sadly, his appeal didn't last long and the Governor eventually became a baddy that we no longer cared about. He was overused, abused, and most certainly outstayed his welcome. His feud with Rick and the gang became laughable and the worst thing of all, we weren't scared of him anymore.
The fact that he wouldn't die was also taking its toll on the viewers. Many of us wanted something different, something fresh, something or someone with a baseball bat named Lucille perhaps?
Thankfully, the Governor finally met his maker in the middle of the fourth season and we never had to look at his stupid face again.
