10 Walking Dead Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off
7. Ezekiel
Ezekiel, played by Khary Payton, is easily one of the most unique and bizarre characters on The Walking Dead. First introduced as the King of the Kingdom in season seven, Ezekiel's arrival was met with much excitement from fans of the comic book - mainly because of his pet tiger Shiva.
Adapting a self-proclaimed King and his tiger from a comic book series into a gritty TV show will always be a questionable decision from the writers of the show, but, over time, Ezekiel's pantomime caricature has been downplayed and he has deservedly become a more relatable survivor. After helping the communities deal with Negan, Ezekiel helped form the Coalition and married Carol.
But after the death of Henry, their marriage fell apart, and Ezekiel has struggled to be the strong leader he once was. Despite now suffering with thyroid cancer, Ezekiel still remains determined as we last see him on a journey with Eugene and Yumiko to make contact with a new community.
An Ezekiel spin-off show would be a prequel to the Kingdom's formation and show how Ezekiel gained his leadership. However, the most exciting thing an Ezekiel spin-off could do is detail exactly how Ezekiel tamed Shiva. In his past life Ezekiel was a zoo keeper so it would be interesting to see how one can survive with a tiger at the beginning of an outbreak.
