10 Walking Dead Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off
5. Tyreese
Unfortunately, comic book favorite Tyreese Williams never truly got his due on the TV show. Portrayed by Chad Coleman, Tyreese was fairly underutilized in the show and was never given the opportunity to reach his full comic book potential. This is thanks to his surprisingly sudden death in season five.
First introduced in season three episode eight, alongside his sister Sasha, Tyreese could not catch a break during his time on the show. From falling victim to The Governor's acting and facade of Woodbury, to the murder of romantic partner Karen, and the failed guardianship of Lizzie and Mika, Tyreese had a very troubled journey.
He then seemed to become a background character for the majority of season five until his sudden death in episode nine. After getting bite by a walker, and having his arm amputated to stop the infection, Tyreese eventually died of blood loss.
At times, the character seemed like an inconvenience to the writers of the show, and they therefore found an easy way to kill him off. A spin-off show could follow Tyreese, and Sasha, at the start of the outbreak up until their introduction in season three.
It will allow fans to get a deeper understanding of the sibling relationship between the two, and give Chad Coleman deservedly more screen time than originally given. A Tyreese spin-off could finally make the TV version of the character on par with the comic book iteration - not to mention much more use of his iconic hammer.
