10 Ways Arrow Would Be Different If It Were On Netflix

4. Less Cheap Emotional Drama

As a combined result of having to fill so many episodes with content and the desire to attract an audience of love-hungry teenage girls, it feels like Arrow has become exceedingly prone to pushing senseless emotional drama in favour of any other story.

Whether it’s forced love triangles or heroes acting out of character to service the plot, Arrow has really struggled to contain its melodrama and believability lately. The result of this has been some awful dialogue and some even worse storylines. Felicity's brief and hilariously offensive stint in a wheelchair, being a prime example.

That’s not to say that this sort of drama doesn’t have a place. Netflix characters face all sorts of emotional issues, but they’re all handled in a more mature and believable way, such that they never feel like a strain on the series. Relationship problems are handled by mature adults and not characters looking to pick a fight with every conversation.

If Arrow treated its viewers with a little more respect, it might realize that the characters alone would be enough to support the show without a list of petty new problems each week.
