What else could it have been!? The biggest thing that's changed about Doctor Who in 2014 has, of course, been Peter Capaldi who made his official debut as the Twelfth Doctor in Series 8. And guess what? He did a bloody good job of it, too! They couldn't have steered further away from Matt Smith's youthful Doctor but it was exactly what the show needed in order to rejuvenate it and casting Capaldi has opened up the TARDIS doors to a whole new legion of followers. Fans have now enjoyed 13 episodes with the Twelfth Doctor and Peter has firmly established himself in his deserved role as the universe's chief defender. He's added a new level of sophistication to the series and his portrayal of the Time Lord has already showcased new sides of the character as well as harking back to attributes of his previous incarnations. Fans could spend all day singing praises but so let's just summarise by saying that Peter Capaldi was born to play the Doctor and look forward to his next string of adventures. 2014 has been a pretty spectacular year for Doctor Who and things are only going to get better. Bring on 2015! What do you think of this list? Is there anything else about Doctor Who that has changed in 2015, and were these changes for better or for worse?
