10 Ways Game Of Thrones Is Basically Modern-Day Britain
8. Ed Miliband MP, The Bolton Party
So, you may ask, who are the alternatives to the dominant Tories? Labour. Otherwise known as House Bolton. They are the traditional allies of the North and the working class people who live there in Season 1, with strong backing and loyalty to the Starks. They march to war with the Starks and the common folk looking to overthrow the Lannisters' grip on the Iron Throne in Season 2. Meanwhile in real life, Ed Miliband led his Labour party towards Westminster to overthrow Cameron and Co. fully backed by the majority of the North. However, while Miliband didn't emerge victorious, if he had won the General Election, you can guarantee the political picture would have resembled something the Red Wedding. Roose Bolton appeared to be in favour of the North and it's working class majority, but he was tied into the games of the rich and powerful within the capital. The noble attitude was an act. He betrayed the North, and went on to occupy it. Is there anybody who could actually run the Seven Kingdoms or Britain?!
