10 Ways Gotham Has Redeemed Itself
2. A Side Of Fish
One of the weakest plot points in the first season revolved around the crime boss Fish Mooney. While she was seen by showrunners as a strong new female character in the bat-mythos, many fans saw her as a corny, overacted villain with no likeable traits. In a genre where the villains are just as beloved as the heroes, she appeared to be an odd choice for a criminal mastermind in Gotham.
Following her death at the end of the first season, she was mostly absent from the second season. When she was finally brought back to life in Hugo Strange’s lab, she had been shown to have developed powers. She had the ability to influence people to do her bidding by simply touching them. What made her abilities interesting was that every time she used it, she would become weaker and closer to death.
While her character can still be annoying, her story has vastly improved. Last seen slipping through Penguin’s fingers with Hugo Strange in tow, she has vowed to make a big return with an army of super-powered followers (created by Strange) to take over the city. If she can make good on her promise, she may prove to be a major factor when Mayor Penguin eventually falls from power.
