10 Ways The Boys TV Show Is Different From The Comics
7. The Legend
The Legend is nowhere to be seen in The Boys adaptation (for now) but he is a major player in the original story. He is a comic-book seller who was in charge of Vought's publishing series, Victory Comics.
When he learned his son perished in the Vietnam war after using a faulty gun, the Legend was utterly devastated. Having later learned the rifle that killed his son was produced by Vought, he vowed to dismantle the corrupt organisation - and so, serves as an informant for Butcher.
When Hughie joined the team, Butcher set up meetings with the Legend to educate Hughie about the origin of Compound V, the inner workings of Vought, and the history of The Seven. He had another son with Queen Maeve called Blarney C*ck, but had such an antagonistic relationship with him, Legend congratulated Hughie when he learned he killed him.
His character is a handy way to dole out exposition, so it's unknown why he was removed from the show. It's possible he may be introduced later in the series but there has been no mention of him yet.
