10 Ways The Boys TV Show Is Different From The Comics

4. Jack From Jupiter's Absence

Since The Boys series is seventy-two issues long (excluding tie-ins), there are slew of Supes that can be incorporated into the show. Even though the series is still relatively new, the writers have concocted several superpowered characters including Doppelgänger, Ryan Butcher, Shockwave, Kenji, and Mesmer.

Not only are the showrunners adding characters, they also removing some. For the show, The Seven member, Jack From Jupiter, was swapped out for the invisible Supe, Translucent.

Jack is a supposed extra-terrestrial who becomes momentarily invincible if he says the word "Carpo". Despite this immense power, he is one of the few Supes that doesn't possess superstrength, and so is regarded as the weakest member of The Seven. He may be a hedonistic cannibal and relentless drug-user, but Jack acts as the voice of reason of the group, and has broken up conflicts between his teammates on several occasions.

It's uncertain why the character was removed from the series, but fans speculate it has to do with his unusual appearance. Because of his unique complexion, CGI or motion-capture would probably be needed to bring the character to life, which would've proven expensive and time-consuming. This in mind, switching him for a character who is literally invisible is WAY cheaper.
