7. Bring Back Hank Scorpio (And Other Great One-Shot Characters)
There's a lot to be said for the power of one-shot characters and their impact on the fans. Hank Scorpio is one of the most beloved characters in the show's history, and he only appeared in one episode! That episode is Season 8's You Only Move Twice; an ingenious, hilarious James Bond spoof that has Mr. Scorpio at the heart of its most funny jokes. Among dozens of strange, larger-than-life oddballs in The Simpsons, Hank Scorpio is up up there with the weirdest and the wackiest. With an amazing voice performance by Al Brooks and lines to work with like "Homer, I've gotta go, there's a problem upstairs! Somebody ate part of my lunch!" and "My butt's for sitting, not for kissing", it's no surprise that Scorpio is a fan favourite. There are plenty of other great characters who merely appeared in one episode, including Jacques, Lyle Langley, John and Rex Banner. With the right material, bringing some of these fan-favourites back to Springfield might prove to be a good idea.
