10 Ways Your Favourite TV Shows Will Probably End

The ending of Game of Thrones is hurtling towards us. The biggest TV show of the decade, it's all going to stop after Season 8, which is expected to air in 2018 and consist of just six episodes.

Given where the story is, it seems like there's nowhere near enough time, which is probably a good thing - there's going to be no dragging it out, just a hell of a momentous build towards the series' climax.

But what exactly will that climax be? After six seasons, not to mention that 20 years George R.R. Martin has been crafting A Song of Ice and Fire, there is an insane amount of hype and expectation for how they'll finish things off. The only things we know for sure is that it'll be epic, and according to GRRM, "bittersweet."

While there are numerous theories, ranging from someone sitting on the Iron Throne to Jon VERSUS Daenerys, the most likely right now seems to be the Battle of Ice and Fire. The White Walkers break through the Wall and invade Westeros, and it's left to the likes of Jon, Daenerys, and of course the dragons to combat them. It's called a A Song of Ice and Fire, after all, and the Walkers have been clearly positioned as the major threat our heroes have to deal with.

Since dragonglass and Valyrian steel can kill them, both objects intrinsically linked to dragons, it fits that dragons will also be able to destroy them. The more outlandish part of this theory is the notion of the Walkers having a dragon of their own; an ice dragon. That itself is a separate theory, but it makes some sense that the Walkers would have something to combat the aerial threat of Dany's dragons.

Westeros will be laid to waste, many will die. The good guys will just about win, but at a major cost, and with few lives spared (Tyrion is surely nailed-on to die a hero's death in the series finale). Yep, bittersweet.
