The Rise Of Taj is a sequel to the Ryan Reynolds comedy Van Wilder: Party Liaison, about a permanent slacker who plans to never leave college because he enjoys it too much. Kal Penn was Taj, his sort-of-racist-stereotype sidekick. And...that's it. Reynolds didn't wanna do the sequel, so Penn stepped up! Really, he shouldn't have. Although it did give Lauren Cohen one of her big early parts, as the beautiful teaching supervisor Taj instantly falls in love with having transferred to a college that's definitely not Oxford.
