10 Weirdest Decisions In Star Trek History

8. The USS Vengeance Model

For some reason, in Star Trek Into Darkness, you can see a model of the USS Vengeance in Admiral Marcus's office at Starfleet Headquarters near the start of the film, despite this ship supposedly being a highly classified project led by the covert operatives at Section 31.

The people at Section 31 are supposed to be extremely mysterious and secretive. They should've known how to keep this under wraps better (though, fortunately for them, Kirk was too oblivious to notice the model).

A huge deal was made about the Vengeance being a heavily armed military vessel (designed with the help of the criminal Khan) that Section 31 wanted to keep secret to prepare for some hypothetical war, but they somehow thought that keeping a model of the ship alongside models of the most influential vessels in Starfleet history wouldn't catch anyone's attention.

Regardless, the Vengeance didn't stay classified for long, and ended up crashing directly into San Francisco in the end.
