10 Weirdest Decisions In Star Trek History
3. Picard Returning From The Nexus Too Late
Star Trek: Generations had a lot of problems, but one of the strangest moments was the return, and immediate death, of Captain Kirk.
When Tolian Soran succeeded in diverting the Nexus towards himself and Picard, they were both transported into the anomaly where they lived outside of space and time in a dimension of pure happiness created by their minds. Eventually Picard was able to break free from the allure of the Nexus with the guidance of a fragment of Guinan's soul that remained inside of it. She gave Picard the idea to seek out Kirk for help inside of the former Captain's own personal heaven.
Picard convinced Kirk to return to reality to help him defeat Soran, which seems like a really odd choice. Of course saving Kirk and returning him to normal space would be fine, but why did they not reemerge from the anomaly weeks before Soran even began blowing up stars? That way Picard could defeat Soran way sooner, save the Enterprise-D from destruction, and allow Kirk to live on in the 24th century.
