7. High Septon's Brothel Visit
A rather bemusing sequence of events that is setup to introduce the militant Sparrows focuses first on the current High Septon who is head of the Faith of the Seven. The supposedly pious man is caught in a brothel surrounded by naked prostitutes who are all dressed as to represent one of the Seven Gods.
Behind him stands Olyvar, dressed as The Father, who asks the High Septon who he shall be 'worshipping' today to which the he responds The Maiden and The Stranger. The latter of which has her hair styled to conceal her face as The Stranger is faceless.
It's a bizarre scene that makes your skin crawl. Before he gets what he wants, the Sparrows barge in and accuse the High Septon of heresy before forcing him to walk naked through the streets of King's Landing.
This Walk of Atonement would become a far more significant and terrible punishment later in the season but at the time it seemed like a fitting punishment for a brief but perverted look into the High Septon's private life.
