The human Cylons were one of Battlestar Galactica's biggest draws when it was first released in 2004. The fan theories about who was and wasn't a Cylon exploded across fan pages with every new episode and every new Cylon model uncovered.

Yet one fan theory after the show was finished has a unique take on who is and isn't a Cylon. Basically, this theory states that everyone is a robot, and what we see in Battlestar Galactica is just the continuation of a never-ending cycle where humanoid robots create mechanical robots that wipe them out, then those robots invent humanoid robots who take out the mechanical only to recreate the mechanical Cylons, and on and on.

This theory is based on one of the show's iconic lines "all of this has happened before, and it will happen again". This endless loop as hinted by the show's beginning and ending indicates that there is no more humanity, only what they created now trapped in an endless loop of birth and death.

Admittedly, this theory cant be disproven as the line between being a human or a Cylon is extremely blurry from the show's perspective, and it would make the most sense thematically for the show to have just been a small part of a grander, never-ending conflict.

And in all fairness, robots would be able to handle a larger never-ending cycle much better than humans, who can't even leave one small planet in one tiny corner of the universe.
