10 Worst CGI Moments In Star Trek

Enterprise season three pushed boundaries and it is responsible for the rise in the show's overall quality. The inclusion of the five separate races of the Xindi was a fantastic idea, demonstrating the differences in evolution of a race in ways that hadn't been touched on before.

The Primates, Reptilian and Arboreal races all look excellent and the make-up for each, varying in layers and intensity, are a triumph. The latter two races however, while certainly ambitious, let the side down for everyone.

The Xindi Aquatic race, exactly what it sounds like, was a water dwelling element of the Xindi council. There is very little to say other than they just look so out of place among most of the rest of the characters that it begs the question why the production team had to include them. This criticism does not extend to their ships, which are stunning, but just to the race themselves.

They are perhaps let down most by the now common theme of having to interact with real actors and scenes. The CGI of the early '00s just had not advanced far enough to make this look convincing and they come off as a projected cartoon on otherwise solid sets. However, they are only the second worst of the Xindi races in this respect...
