The TV series Andrea was very different from comic book Andrea. In the source material she manages to become toughened up pretty quickly, and ended up shacking up with Rick after Lori and Dale had popped their clogs. She since remained one of the key members of the group, one of the few remaining original cast members and a fan favourite. Her translation to the screen managed to lose...pretty much all that. Much as was the case with Bob, Laurie Holden is a good actress, but in Andrea she did not have a good character. To be honest, with Robert Kirkman's old-fashioned approach to gender politics, it's a surprise she was ever allowed to be such a strong character in the comics. But he made sure to nerf the heck out of any abilities she had on screen. Andrea spent the first three seasons constantly trying to prove that she was the tough person she becomes in the comics, but never quite managing it. She talked the talk but never walked the walked, and her posturing was kinda pathetic and annoying. Then she shacked up with The Governor for some reason, and sealed her fate.
