7. The Zarbi - The Web Planet (1965)

This is where we see serious “man-in-costume” syndrome.

This is an episode from 1965 so I will cut it some slack as they were basically working with any scraps they could find at the BBC, but a somewhat bland story that doesn’t have much drive forward is only made worse by the emergence of the fly-like Zarbi.

The top half seems to be where all the effort has gone as the bottom half of the costume just has the actor’s trousers and shoes sticking out. It clearly has not aged well at all and isn’t helped by the blooper of one running into a camera, but for an episode so early on in the show’s history, what do we expect?
