10 Worst Episodes Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
7. Dee Day
The concept that the writers introduced in Mac Day was phenomenal. After the episode was done, many were hoping to see the structure used again in the future, as the avenue for comedy was so unique. So fans were incredibly optimistic when they found out that Dee Day was coming.
The episode does have some amusing parts but feels like a bit of a cheat. The Mac Day outing acted as a way to delve deep into his character, but with Dee, she pretty much exists as the conflict for another scheme that the guys are pulling. Something like this could be funny in another context, but within Dee Day, it feels like we are robbed of seeing some great character work from Kaitlin Olson.
The scheme is entirely anti-climactic as well, with them trying to rig a by-law that would allow for public urination. It isn't an interesting goal, and the reveal that Dee was in on it the whole time doesn't feel immensely satisfying.
There is a lot of wasted potential with this one. Even Dee's awful characters can't save it from feeling mundane.
