10 Worst Episodes Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

6. Charlie's Home Alone

This outing runs simultaneously to The Gang Wins the Big Game. The method of having two episodes acting parallel to each other gives the writers plenty of chances to create exciting moments. However, despite the unique structure it ends up taking a tunnel vision approach to the narrative.

To elaborate on this, there isn't much nuance to the setup, and it doesn't take long to figure out what the majority of the gag is going to be. As soon as you see Charlie set up the traps, it is apparent that he will spring them on himself. This leads to the episode feeling utterly predictable and barely ever giving the audience a reason to be invested.

There also isn't a huge reason for the episode to exist. The connection it has with its counterpart would make you think that it has a strong purpose, but it ultimately barely affects it.

Finally, whilst Home Alone is incredibly popular, doing a parody of it seems a little out of place. Perhaps as a Christmas special the concept of Charlie in this scenario could work, but here it just feels forced.
