10 Worst Family Guy Episodes
7. Fresh Heir
One big problem many people have with Family Guy is that the deliberately provocative humour feels forced. The shocking narratives and moments often feel tacked on in an effort to keep the show's reputation going. Sometimes it works, and other times, it's hard to sit through. Take a guess as to which of those brackets this episode falls under.
In "Fresh Heir", Chris ends up bonding with his wealthy grandfather, Carter Pewterschmidt, and gets named as the sole inheritor of his fortune. Then, to get close to the money, Peter tries to bond with Chris, ending in him proposing marriage to him.
The concept of exploring Chris and Peter's dynamic had legs to stand on, but - as should be obvious - incest jokes were not the way to do it. This episode's constant gags about interfamily sex/relationships grew old in a second and turned this outing into a poorly written mess.
It's a perfect example of how Family Guy ruins its potential by trying too hard to be shocking.
