2. The One With Mac And C.H.E.E.S.E.
There was plenty of potential in this one, and if it had been handled differently, it could have made it onto a best episodes list. But, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it was ruined by the decision to feature lazy flashbacks. Don't worry, though; this is the last clip show episode.
The One With Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E. shows as Joey gets an audition for a TV show but ends up missing the recall after Chandler fails to notify him about it. From there, they argue, and the whole group looks back on times they've messed up.
Going a step beyond The One With The Vows, this episode had a well-built plot with Chandler causing Joey to miss his audition, and simply adding a good B and C plot would have made this a great outing. But, as has happened too many times, the choice to fill it with archive footage ruined it.
The most egregious issue is that the flashbacks themselves lack focus, with no specific point to anchor on. At least the other outings focussed on one character or relationship. Here, they just came about with random stimuli, making it feel all over the place.
