10 Worst Sci-Fi TV Characters Of All Time
3. Travis Mayweather - Star Trek: Enterprise
For this one, it's likely even some diehard Trekkies out there will ask 'Who?'
Many characters on this list possessed terrible character traits, on other cases, terribleness was thrust upon them. For Travis Mayweather, neither is the case, there is no case at all. Travis was simply forgotten by the writers. Actor Anthony Montgomery admitted as much, revealing he had little clue how to approach the character given his total lack of any discernible backstory.
The one thing Mayweather has above everyone else is his penchant for sustaining injury. No one in Star Trek history has gotten hurt more often than poor Travis. Not the best record to hold but it's the most he was ever given.
Throughout Enterprise's time on TV, the Mayweather character drew criticism for the absence of anything resembling a personality. We've seen plenty of creative failures thus far, with Travis we see what can happen when creativity itself gets up and leaves the office.
The Enterprise series as a whole became infamous for its lack of entertainment value and flat character arcs. No one character hammered home what a grim time this was for the Star Trek franchise more than Mr Mayweather and his listless appearances.
