10 Worst Things Lisa Simpson Has Ever Done
2. Her Jealousy
While it’s only second here, jealousy is far and away Lisa’s worst trait. She’s much nastier in places than she ever was in the Golden Era, but even back then she was prone to the green eyed monster.
By far the best episode to come out of a Lisa’s jealousy plot is Lisa’s Rival, where she’s jealous of new classmate Allison, voiced by Winona Ryder. The girl is better at saxophone than her, more intelligent, and makes a more inventive diorama. Basically, she’s better at everything that makes Lisa Lisa.
Bart then helps her (you know, doing a nice thing), before Lisa realises she’s acting poorly and rectifies things.
She’s also been jealous of Maggie’s intelligence (clearly a sore spot for her) in Smart & Smarter, which involves Lisa purposely teaching Maggie the wrong answers, changing her ‘thing’ from being the smart girl, and finally running away. At least this has the sweet ending where it’s revealed Lisa has subconsciously been helping Maggie out.
Finally, in Jazzy & The Pussycats, she’s jealous of Bart being better at music than her, making her give up on jazz entirely. She’s got a real issue with not being able to handle second best.
