6. Abigail Breslin - Dirty Dancing

And the award for most egregious miscasting in 2017 goes to Abigail Breslin, who incredulously landed the role of Baby in the wildly unnecessary made-for-TV remake of the hit 80s movie Dirty Dancing.

Aside from being a wholly dispassionate retread of the classic film, the new Dirty Dancing sees the Oscar-nominated Breslin struggling to convince as a dancer, while even the romantic aspect falls flat because of her near-total lack of chemistry with the new Johnny, Colt Prattes.

Once can only imagine Breslin's love for the original movie convinced her to take this part against conventional logic, but why on Earth would anyone actually placate her and cast her in a role like this?

It's embarrassing for almost everyone involved, but at least it'll be quickly forgotten.
