9. The Shannara Chronicles
When it was first announced, The Shannara Chronicles had a lot going for it. As an adaptation of the Shannara series by Terry Brooks, it had a solid fantasy foundation - I mean, who doesn't love a good fantasy show? There was only one thing dragging it down, three cursed letters: MTV.
Not every MTV show is terrible, but it certainly doesn't help. The Shannara Chronicles tells the story of Wil, Amberle and Eretria who strive to protect the Ellcrys tree and banish a bunch of demons back to a place called the Four Lands.
Therein lies The Shannara Chronicles' biggest problem. The story is the basest of cookie-cutter fantasy. It's all demons, druids and elves, with characters throwing around ridiculously cheesy exposition and dialogue at every turn. It might be marketed at a younger MTV audience, but it offers little of worth to its target demographic.
