10 Worst TV Shows Of 2018 (So Far)

8. Yellowstone

Yellowstone Kevin Costner
Paramount

Though it might seem unfair to include Yellowstone on a worst-of list after just two episodes have aired, the disappointment felt by those first 2.5 hours is emphatic enough to make it a worthy inclusion.

Creator Taylor Sheridan is one of the hottest screenwriters working in Hollywood right now, so the prospect of him helming a Kevin Costner-starring western TV series about the personal and political turmoil surrounding a large cattle ranch certainly generated high expectations.

The feature-length pilot episode sadly doesn't get things off to a great start, with glacial pacing, an excess of exposition, and surprisingly thinly-written characters that even Costner's talents can't much elevate.

On the basis of the two episodes that have currently aired, Yellowstone reeks of Sheridan being given too much freedom by Paramount. While things may eventually pick up, how many people will dare slog through several dull hours to get there? The third episode being pushed back a week due to 4th of July shenanigans also didn't do it any favours.

While visually impressive and peppered with moments of gritty invention, too much of Yellowstone feels like an absolute chore.
