10 Worst Uses Of CGI In Anime History

8. Sailor Moon Crystal

Sailor Moon is one of those properties that just never goes away, because frankly, it's really damn good even all these years later. But the otherwise universally acclaimed reboot - Sailor Moon Crystal - had one pretty glaring annoyance throughout. That being the insistence on using distracting CGI animation for the transformation scenes.

And mind you, the transformation scenes are in EVERY episode, and take up quite a bit of time, so you have plenty of time to notice how the two animation styles just do not mesh in the slightest.

While not necessarily as bad as later entries, and nowhere near as primitive as Initial D's cars, you still notice it when it happens and it's a distraction from what should be the main attraction of any given episode: seeing our heroines transform to head into the action.
