10 WTF Moments From Japan's Most Insane Reality Show
5. Someone Found Him
One of the main rules of the show was that Nasubi must stay completely secluded from other human beings until he amassed his ten thousand dollars in prizes. With the show being broadcast live and a growing interest around the country however, people began looking for him. It is unknown as to just who spilled the beans, but someone somewhere managed to get a hold of Nasubi's secret address, and unbeknownst to the naked man in the room, fans tried to visit. It was the middle of the night and Nasubi was fast asleep on the floor when a distinct creak could be heard as the door to his room slid open. A man tiptoed into the room and stood over Nasubi in silence before turning the lights on. Nasubi was face to face with the producer of the show, the first person he had seen or spoken to in over five months. Since Nasubi's location had leaked out, it was no longer safe for them to film there without the prying eyes of people interested in the show's filming, but Nasubi wasn't allowed to know that. If he realized that his antics were being broadcast live to millions of people, it might effect the feel of the show. Under the guise of getting him a bigger room to fit all of his stuff, the producer proceeded to drive the blindfolded Nasubi around the country for a whopping eight hours before dropping him off at a new, undisclosed location with all of his prizes stacked neatly against a wall. Nasubi was happy to be in a bigger space, but his happiness was short lived as he realized his life sustaining bag of rice was missing. After a long period of panicked searching, the producer returned with his bag of rice and apologized for forgetting it in the car. Nasubi's sanity was restored, but it was not to last.
Any time I'm not writing, I'm likely arguing about children's cartoons with strangers on the internet or staring at my ceiling and wondering where it all went wrong.
